EVANSTON, Ill. – Boo Buie scored 23 points to lead the Northwestern Wildcats to an 80-60 Big Ten victory Sunday over the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Northwestern never trailed and led by 11 at half. Iowa’s Kris Murray hit a 3-pointer to pull the Hawkeyes to 47-40 with 13:47 to go. Northwestern’s Brooks Barnhizer hit a 3-pointer to key 10-2 run, and with 4:52 left, the Wildcats led 71-47. Iowa was 3-of-24 from 3-point range.

For the first time since 1931, Northwestern has 11 conference wins.

Buie added eight assists and sank all eight free throws. Ty Berry scored 16 points. Barnhizer added 12 and a team-high seven rebounds.

For Iowa, Murray finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Tony Perkins added 11 points. Filip Rebracascored 10 points and had seven rebounds.

Northwestern is at Illinois Thursday. Iowa is at Wisconsin Wednesday.
